Emilie van de Graaff

Emilie has over 20 years experience across the spectrum of transport modes with experience in both public and private sectors and has worked in both strategic and operational roles.

Emilie and Laurent founded Elleeva Associates in August 2020. In the past three years they have been involved in a range of projects that have been fun, interesting and challenging. They range from strategy and contract development, bid preparation, and gateway reviews for jurisdictions across Australia.

Prior to this, Emilie was responsible for passenger experience, network planning and innovation at Yarra Trams and before that she headed up operations for a bus contract in Melbourne of over 500 buses and 1100 drivers.  

Emilie also worked for 11 years in the UK across a number of roles in consulting and government, developing and implementing transport strategies and policies, leading on stakeholder and community engagement.

Emilie has been a strong advocate for sustainable transport throughout her career and understands first hand the complexity of delivering projects in the Australian context. She has long experience in stakeholder and community engagement, as well as behaviour change. In her own time Emilie is an advocate for active and sustainable transport in the Macedon Ranges where she lives and actively involved in other community activities. She is vice-president on the board of Bicycle Network.

Elleeva Associates Laurent Michaille

Laurent Michaille PhD

Laurent is a physicist specialising in sustainable energy, energy efficiency and the transition to zero emissions.

Laurent has been consulting independently for a number of years as well as working with the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group assisting people in low income housing to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

He worked for two years at Beyond Zero Emissions, researching on the transition to a low carbon economy and contributing to a number of reports including the sustainable transport report for Melbourne, high speed rail and the energy efficient buildings plan.

His consultancy work has included reporting on energy efficiency programs for business and advising on technologies and focus areas to reduce energy use.

In the UK he was a senior research scientist at QinetiQ, a leading research agency, where his projects included environmental research using laser technology to measure carbon in the atmosphere.
